On my website I want to make some pages only available to a select group of people. These people will all have a username and password to view the pages.

The username and password will be the same for everyone so Im not sure if a database is necessary. Is there a simple way to do this?

You could use a basic user authentication script - there are loads of free versions at http://www.hotscripts.com/PHP/Script...ent/index.html

If you have cPanel, a really easy way is to go to "password protect directories" and place password protection on the directories you want to protect.

If you can put them all in one folder, try HTACCESS from your Cpanel. amember is the best membership program on the market and it will work great, but it will be an overkill for you. You can get javascript logins for a single page as well as php login for a single page.

fooling around with the .htaccess file would be the best option...that is if you know what your doing.

That's the way to go. You can password-protect any directory you want using cPanel without resorting to installing any script.
