The feature only allows - You may ban any IP numbers from signing your Guestbook. I followed instructions but it appears not to work. This applies as a feature of the guestbook - For security reasons, you may wish to display the IP or Hostname of the person signing your guestbook. The default is ON... hmmmm, thank you for your assistance.

I would suggest using a different guestbook that offers more security options. I visited your site. Guestbook looks nice, but it's true, there are better, free guestbooks to use that will help you filter spam, if your current guestbook is not able to do so. Your current guestbook is asking for URL and Emails. You should be able to turn those things off in admin section.

A while back, I was looking at some guestbooks. I have these in my bookmarks:
http://www.phpjunkyard.com/php-guestbook-script.php
http://www.promosi-web.com/script/guestbook/

And this is a list of PHP guestbooks. Some use a database, some don't:
http://php.resourceindex.com/Complet...ts/Guestbooks/

I really liked the Viper Guestbook, but not too sure about it's spam filtering.
The link from phpjunkyard shows good info on guestbook spamming. Most of the links have demos so you can view their guestbooks in action.

Good luck.
