Hello all. Thanks in advance for any possible help. I am a newbie and have received a psd template from a friend who doesn’t really know what it is.
I can edit the template in Photoshop with no problem.
My question is how do I upload this.
Do I upload this? (the psd file?)
I tried putting it into dream weaver it won’t open.
When I have the site up do I have to put the pages im working on back into Photoshop to edit the text?
I really don’t understand can someone help me. Thank you very much!

PSD is Photoshop file with all (1 or more) layers.

You can not edit psd in DW, but You have to save psd file in one of image formats, mostly JPG, GIF or PNG.

What to do with PSD (template for web page)?

You have to slice it in ImageReady or Photoshop and prepare it for work in some of HTML editors.

Try to find on Google something about SLICING IN PHOTOSHOP

I use frontpage, which i know is not the best, but I save my work as a jpg and it saves it and allows me to add it to my html document just fine

Ok.. the PSD is a GRAPHIC file, you cannot use that as a web page.
You must slice up the PSD graphic file to fit the parts of your web page where you want the graphics to go.

AS far as I know, FP can't do that by itself either. You do NOT want a big graphic for a web page.

If you use dreamweaver you could use the option of image mapping.

A nice option if you want to use a graphic as an interface for a website.
