is there an easy way to line those up so they are evenly spaced apart?

If you don't mind using a little css here's an article I wrote on creating a simple navigation bar. Just leave out the background colors and obviously set the color of the text to what ever you want. The blue on blue you have now is very hard to read just so you know.
