Is there anyway to disable the use of download mangers I know some sites like rapidshare.de dont allow them to be used but I dont know what html code they use to do that, does any one happen to know?

They probably spot download managers buy monitoring multiple connections from the same ip. You can't really detect a download managers as such, You can only look out for characteristics of download managers.

They dont detect download manager they restrict the IP and other thing they do is they dont provide you a direct link to the download these kind of sites write binery data to the browser stream for thr purpose of downloading thats why you cant use the download manager to download files from this kind of websites. You can do this binery stream thing in any scripting language e.g. ASP, PHP or in .NET

Tell the download manager Shut Up. lol!

Ok what you do is goto the download managers setup then tell it not to take over regular downloads, or remove/unistall the download manager.

What Y2kRobie wants to do is disable them at the server so they cannot be used on that site, NOT how to configure the client side, which is only accessible to the person using it.

It will depend on your server technology on how you restrict users to a single active session or connection
