Kinda new to HTML programing, but i have a question...

is there a way in HTML so when a customer clicks to download a file, it promopts the user as to where they want the file downloaded to? I always thought files would be handled however the user has their browser preferences set... but i have been told by a few people there is away around it. I need the users standard "save as" window to come up, so customers know where their files are being saved, and be able to create a new folder for the files if they wish... now it just downloads wherever their preferences are set, and inevitably, i get an e-mail saying they can't find the files...

thanks in advance!

not in HTML.

You need to use serverside code

or of course tell them to Right Click on the link and use Save Target As ... (IE), Save Link As... (FF, NS etc)
