I'd like advice on how to incorporate a comment form into my website, similar to the way blog comments work. I already have a couple of blogs so please don't suggest this.
I have seen on other websites the way I'd like the comments process to work, and that is that users would click 'comment' at the foot of each post. This would then open the post and existing comments in a new page. At the end of the comments, the form would already be there for the visitor to leave his own - this is the important factor, as I don't like the way blogs open the comment box in a new window, also style continuity is lost this way.

Does anyone know how I'd go about this?

PS I've also used Haloscan, but this also opens up in its own window.

You're going to have to use a server-side scripting language - ASP, PHP, etc. in order to accomplish what you want.

PS I use the free hosting option at 50webs.com, if that's nay help.

I'm afraid I'm not a programmer (any more) so I can't explain much in detail, but it can certainly be done. Using MySQL as a backend database, and PHP to access the database you could accomplish this. Both programs are free. However, you would have to find out if 50webs.com has support for either, I rather doubt it. You'd have to get a real host for your site.

Easy enough to look up

MySQL AB :: The world's most popular open source database

PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor
