Yea, good question. Its hard to get it but using a cheatsheet you can do html off this untill you remember codes and can do it off the cuff. I never "learned" html because i was always an in demand person and without any html training i already made this website. Now PHP is a completly different story. yes you CAN learn it off a cheatsheet but in its case because its so big its best if you just learn it and save yourself time and confusion

thats my advice for the day.

The cheatsheet might be worthy if it wasn't full of old, deprecated HTML 3.2 tags

its for begginers and im adding advanced tags page but i did that in like 15 minutes. About being depreciated though... not really. The codes arnt obsolete and work fine. Anybody whos learning should start there. And about the font which suprisingly nobody mentioned, Other admins would make a page which would very in size color and font so I made that the absolute font

No use for experts. Of Course thats why you are called an expert cause you dont need it, but look back at the time when we started we would have apreciatted something as simple as that CheatSheet I support it.

Though there are many many out there already

I disagree. Anyone who's learning should learn CURRENT web technology. By that I mean HTML 4.01 and basic CSS. Learning the 'old stuff' just means more pain later to get yourself up to a current level. Why learn bad habits you have to struggle to break later ??

Would you want to learn how to use a typewriter these days ??? Probably not.. old technology. How about a dial phone ?? Have you ever even USED one ?

A cheatsheet is not a bad idea for beginners, but you can learn from the ground up, BY HAND and still learn current coding specs.

I Agree! but still a little understanding of basic stuff is always good to understand whats going on in newer versions

but I agree with Lred

Why would you start learning something in the middle of it? You must first learn were it all started. Learning the beginning codes will help when you develop your coding into more advanced coding. There is no point in starting out telling someone all these advanced codes that have been developed from basic codes. It is easier to learn the basic codes and advance yourself through the stages of coding advancements so you can become an "expert" coder if there is such a person.

There are no 'beginning codes'. There is nothing 'advanced' about using a CSS line for 'text-align: center' vs. using the deprecated <center> method. If you are starting from scratch, no knowledge whatsover, then they learn the current technology as their base.

My analogy of the typewriter stands. If I were teaching a computer class would I make the students first learn to use a typewriter ??? NOT ! To play X-box games would you then teach them to play PONG first ?? Of course not.

A new student is a blank slate, with no bad habits and no preconceived notions or knowledge. You teach them current technology, the 'new way' from the start and they go forward with never knowing that the 'old way' ever existed.

MZA -- LOL. Most young people these days have probably never SEEN a dial phone, let alone used one But you get my drift

WARNING:<rant>
Should everybody who wants to learn Photoshop find version 1 to learn?" Then
find Photoshop 2 and see what has changed, etc. etc. etc.

This wouldn't be of any advantage...

I guarantee that half the people working for NASA under the age of 40 do not
fully understand the first Rocket that NASA sent into space.

The problem with Learning HTML is not really learning html. It is about how we
used it. And, before css hit the scene we had to be creative with the way we
used html. We used it incorrectly, but we knew that we were using it incorrectly.
It was for a reason. We used all kinds of *Hacks.* The best way to use HTML is
to learn how to use it correctly. Get a hold of a big old html book that explains
everything about everything and learn it. Cheatsheets are only good when you
know what you are doing... (and why not learn the latest and greatest it has to offer?)

Cheatsheetts are great, But there are about 1 billion of them already out there
to find. First, I don't see where we need another one. I never made one
because it was easier to find one someone had already made. Usually one from
an authoritative source. Second, I don't see where we need one that explains
things that we shouldn't be using!

I get confused when the expert is asked what his opinion is and then the
admitted non-expert begins to correct him. Not to say that the expert is always
right. But when three or four experts tell me the same thing, I am going to
believe it.

ADVISE: Learning the old way of doing things provides nothing worthwhile. You
are better off spending your time learning how to use css and the most current
version of html...
</rant>

Please! Please! I don't mean to attack anyone here.
Just consider what the *Experts* have to say!

It sounds like some of you dont even know html and are acting like experts. My codes arnt the newest codes out there but they work. They are in NO way obsolete and will probably be around as long as the precious updated codes are. Its not like C++ or java where you learning the old codes means you have to unlearn them and relearn, they work. If those codes in there dont work any time soon then ill shut it down and update them but thats not happening any time soon.

one tip ladynred, get a life, go outside, get some fresh air, and maybe shut the hell up nerd.

Maybe it would be an idea to look up the meaning of "deprecated" before you say that tags such as <MENU> are not obsolete
