I am creating some sites and have been using Iframe to show a page through another page I have a coder who is creating things to show on the other pages. Does anyone know if there is a way to be able to click on something in the iframe and open it in a new window outside of the iframe??

You have to set the target in the link. Try adding target="_blank" in the anchor and see if that works for you.

ok yeah that works, I should have explained myself better, I want it to got to another page in my site by going to it without opening a new window.

Its kinda complicated, I have an Iframe on the default page that shows a product than go to another page to show details of it like a target= _parent tag, but this doesn't work any other ideas if that clarifies it a little better.

Well the main problem is using the iframe in the first place since there's always a better solution than frames.

However if I'm understanding what you wnat right try target="_top"

That should load the new page inside of the same window you have open, but outside of any frames. _parent should have worked too given how I think you have everything set up.

If either doesn't work then could you paste the code or provide a link?

If what you're trying to do is open the new page inside that same iframe then you need to give the iframe a name="myIframe" and then use that name as the target in the link.

If you can you should rethink your page without the Iframe as it may cause trouble with the search engines.
