please let me know the extension of front page file is it .html or something else???

If by 'front page file' you mean the web page, it should be either html or htm.

i meant the webpae created by front page designer...

Any web page is going to have an extension of html or htm unless you're creating ASP, .Net, or PHP pages, in which case the extensions would be .asp, .aspx, or .php.

By default FrontPage saves files as htm.

You can override that and save them as html.

i asked this coz when i create file with front page there icon is different..

I think what may be happening is since you are probably running on windows, it is seeing these html files as FrontPgae files. Some of us with DM see this with certain files types too. You may have FrontPage to be the program assigned to these files in yor registry.
