Column Sizing with Firefox Compatibility

I'm trying to clean up this page by running two equally sized columns down the middle with info. I can get it to work great in IE and Opera but I run into problems with Firefox. I've heard Firefox doesn't work well with the col tag so I tried lableing the td tags seperatly but I still ran into problems.

I apologize for the GeoCities but my other webspace wasn't working right.

As far as I know, FF supports the COL attribute just as readily as the other browsers.

Maybe if you cleaned up your invalid coding it might work correctly:

Quote:
<p class="description"><div id='g_description'><p style="text-align: center;">AACC's Nihongo no Kurabu</p></div></p>
It is improper to wrap a <div> inside a <p>.

You have 2 table cells, each 500px wide. Yet your wrapper is not 1000 pixels wide. What do you EXPECT FF to do ??

Actually the majority of that is generated and it's not my site so I can't make changes like that. I just wanted to clean up the links section.

aahh.. ok.
I don't see that there's anything putting all that stuff into 2 separate table cells though.

No, but if you want all that text in two columns, you need to at least have the table cells in the code:

<tr><td> alsdkfjaskdfjsajfaksfk fkjs f</td><td>asdkfjasdjfasdfajsfjf</td></tr>

What I see on the site now has no table cells defined except for the very top 2.
