I am not sure where to post this, so if I am in the wrong spot please forgive me.

I have had a web site for many years. I'm not a web guru or IT gal, just managed a couple web sites and keep adding content to my own. I have had a form on my web site for many years. This is how I get my jobs so it is very important I fix this ASAP. There has been No problem until now. For some reason I am receiving a bunch of emails in my secure a commission form that are related to IKKY stuff that I would rather not have. This can't be something that someone is manually doing. I certainly want to know how to remedy the situation but I also want to know how and why this happens and the different options of fixing it ( besides being a sculptor I am a writer and it is the writer in me that is asking many questions)

You are using an HTML based contact form and you have your email address right there on the page.

You are a buffet for the spam bots.

Get your email address off the page and go to a secure Php based contact form with captcha image verification. They can still spam you but they have to do it one at a time.

Be sure to set up redirects for existing page becuase you never know where it might be indexed or book marked.

where does one find these "a secure Php based contact form with captcha image verification" are they free? Perhaps I should check with our server to see what they offer. I know there are a bunch of free things. So if I wanted to find articles on this type of thing I would google what? spam bots, and forms? Any other words

I am not sure what "captcha image verification" is, but I do know that using php is a better way to process your forms. A lot of hosting services have a php form tool all ready for you. You may need to look for it, or ask your host about it. If they dont have one already installed, search for free simple php form processing codes and you will find quite a few. You will probably have to do quite a bit of reading to figure out exactly how to use it if your not familiar with php. I know when I was trying to figure it out, my head was spinning for a while! lol! But then again, there are some great people in our PHP forum that would be glad to help you figure anything out.
