Hello everyone,

This is my page that im trying to fix; http://www.realitytvbash.com/indexnewtest.html

The problem is there are 3 tables one under another but I cant seem to make them all stick together. I have 3 different tables because some have more vertical cells than others. As you can see there is a space between them right now.

Can someone help me attach these tables please?

Thanks,
Ewan

I am not seeing a problem using IE and FF.

If you are trying to get the grey area in the header and the next level to stick together look at your padding.

Ewan,

It looked find to me. All tables were tight aginst each other

Here is a little trick I learned a while back. Add this css to the file temporarily. This allows you to see the border of the tables and the individual table cess. This way you can see what is really happening in the browser
HTML Code:
<style type="text/css">
<!--
table { border: thin solid #FF0000;}
td { border: thin dashed #0000FF;}
-->
</style>
See what is happening and you will be better able to fix the problem. And we will be able to see what is going on too.

Here look now; http://www.realitytvbash.com/indexnewtest.html

I have made the tables thick so you can see where they are positioned. They look fine now but when I make the border=0 it spreads apart.

How do I use tabless layouts? And I have to have different tables because some need more vertical cells than others.

Ewan. what ever you can do with tables you can do with css, but only a lot more.

Although my personal site is still made up of tables (can't be bothered yet to switch) A new site i'm currently working is made up using css only. And it's so much better.

But with css can I have like 1 table with 1 vertical box first then 2 below it etc?

Like this;
[------------------First Row-----------------]
[---Second Row----][----Second Row----]
[-Third Row-][-Third Row-][-Third Row-]

YOU can create a layout like this using divs and css Ewan.

There is going to be a learning curve for this. You are not going to sit down and do this in one day. It will take you a week before thnigs start to fall into place and you understand what is happening.

This time will be well worth it. If you continue to use tables, you are going to just get more aggrevated because things like this will continue to happen.

Using CSs at first is going to seem like more work than its worth. But I guarantee after you finish and its all done you are going to be very, very happy with yoru results.

CSS and DIVS are going to give you ten times more control over what is happening with your layout. We will be here to help you too...

Tables are problematic for starters. Secondly, css is the proper way to do it. Why not take the time to do it right if you are going to make changes..!?

Sorry for any delays in getting back to you... Remember. we were probably working on our own problems as well... We will eventually get back to all reasonable responses.
