Okay . . . two fairly unrelated questions:
  • I am wanting to add a font that is not a web standard to my site. How can I upload the font to my server to ensure that anyone viewing the site, sees the correct font . . . I would like it to be in my CSS file.
  • I am trying to spiff up a form mail script a bit to fit my site . . . see it at www.alillywilson.com/contact.html . . . I am pretty happy with the appearance of the form, but in FF the text does not wrap in the textarea . . . it appears as if it is turned off in the code, but it works in IE. Any clues?

Your text area seems to work perfectly fine on my firefox (I have not upgraded to 2.0 yet, so that's the only thing I'm thinking). As for your second question, I have been wondering about this too. http://www.ssi-developer.net/design/embed-font.shtml talks about font embedding, but there is not firefox support that I know of...If out more I'll post it up.

RESOLVED!

I added the wrap="physical" command to my form and that cleared up that issue. Sorry, I had this resolved before posting the thread, I had just forgotten to clear the cache.

I can't seem to get this one to work in FF (as you stated) . . . I will keep looking as well . . . If I resolve it, I will post it here for anyone else looking for it.

You could also try a method called SIFR for the non-standard font problem.

Very nice resource. Have you tried to implement this? I wonder what level of speed and accesibility are sacraficed.

This might be a viable option for your site since it does not have a great deal of content to convert to flash.

I have implemented it and it works like a charm. The accessibility isn't an issue because the actual text is there, but if you have the flash plugin you don't see it. A screen reader or text-only browser does see the the actual text.

As for speed, the SIFR 'font files' are quite small, so it's not an issue unless you're going to have a LOT of other flash on the page - which they don't recommend.
