Hi there im pretty new to this web designing approach on things and would appreciate some advice.. (nice, simple and in laymans terms is the way to go please)
Im busy making a web page nothing fancy, just a sort of advertisement for the main site which will come of age in March of next year, My problem is.. Would it be possible to collect email data (in html) from people who would register on the page im creating so that they can be sent a fortnightly newsletter to keep interest going, without me having to start jumping headfirst into a php/mysql database scenario, or if that is the only way to go could anyone point me in the direction of an easy to understand tutorial that woul explain the process.. Thanks for your time in reading this

An easy way of doing this is www.cutandpastescripts.com

Just join up and choose newsletter.
Fill in all the questions they ask and then cut and paste the code into your site.
I started off using this site a while back and even I could understand how to do it!

Great if you dont want to get into the ins and outs of coding!

Some hosting providers also can have this set up for you.

I believe if you have a linux webhosting plus fantastico install, you should be able use phplist which is quite easy to use or you can download it here: http://www.phplist.com/

Simply do a "mailto: " tag where the preset subject is Send me more info please. When they send it, you will collect their email and also know that they have requested info so you are not spamming them. You can preset the body to ask them to fill in certain blanks too, if you need more information.
