Hello
I use to send Newsletter to my list, about 2,000 adresses.
But now, my internet provider told me twice, and for the LAST time, that I have to stop, I am getting spotted has spam, wich I am not... but I do have a home account and not a busines account... Anyway...

Any further tips ?

I am on mac !
I could probably use a software wich would send like 5 emails every 5 minutes or so ?
Would like to find a "free" way to it.

Thanks :-)

Most likely, your ISP is telling you you're sending spam just because you're sending more mail than the average user. My suggestion would be to use a newsletter script online. But this wouldn't be free, unless you already have a website. Let us know.

Use a server side system or a hosted solution to send the newsletters

Well sometimes email hosts flag a certain user as a "spammer" when they get too many hits from one address. Then they usually contact the ISP from the ip in the hostmask and warn them about the spam (spam is illegal, sigh, spam is illegal but telemarketers calling my house at 7:30 pm at night isn't.).

Your best bet is to try and find maybe a third party solution if you do not have your own resources to solve this problem. I believe there are third party solutions out there that offer newsletters services. Some are free while others offer their service for a small fee.

It's just a suggestion and worth taking a look into.

Usually an internet provider does this when *they*get complaints from poeple saying they are being spammed. If they get complaints everytime you send your email out, then you indeed probably are spamming.

Are you giving people an option to opt-out of your newsletter? If not, Then you are indeed spamming.

Where did the email addresses on your list originating from? Is this an opt-in list?

** REMEMBER: Spam is email that is unsolicited.

What I would do if I were you is to put an opt-out in the header of your newsletter. The next one you send out may briefly explain the situation and give people the option to opt-out right there. I would do this for your few next newsletters in case someone deletes the first couple without looking at them. They need to see this message when they finally do open an email coming from you.

Then I would show your opt-out statement to your internet provider and explain that you want to remedy the situation but feel that you do not want to scrap the entire list just because a few people are complaining. These people need to opt out of my list and must take some responsibility as well with this situation. Many times people will complain but NEVER opt-out. Your internet provider needs to know this. This is why you need to keep records of how every individual on your list has gotten there. You need to be able to show this proof to your internet provider and this can keep this from happening in the future. This is another reason why people use list-server to handle their email newsletters.

With only 2,000 individuals on your list you should be able to handle it, you just need to figure out a way to document how people sign up.

-- Just some words to consider --

You might want to check out Campaign Monitor - campaignmonitor.com - not free, but fairly inexpensive.

I did, for 2000 emails = 25$ per mailing... looks like a good thing, but would like to fond free solution or less expensive than this. Thanks :-)

Thanks for all those details, I appreciate. I don't consider myself spamming but if you say so... I don't have an opt-out button. The emails come from my adresse book, opt-in case in my website (wich could be better) and some emails keep/took from other friends newsletters (but in the same interest). I will also remember to have a talk with my provider.

Constant Contact is probably the most well known hosted solution but there are many more.

Google search and scripts that can run on your server in whatever code your server can run.

Check with your hosting provider, the mail server they run may have a list server built in or they may have a seperate list server that you can set up an account on.

Any server side app will be using the hosts upstream provider to send mail from so will not involve your ISPs mail server at all and obviously a hosted solution will be using their servers.
