Trouble displaying font

Hi, I'm having some trouble getting a font to display correctly and was wondering if anyone has some advice about it. I'm trying to display the word Andele in monotype corsiva and, although it looks right in Dreamweaver, it doesn't display in either Netscape or IE. You can see the result HERE, it's the word that looks terribly out of place. Any suggestions as to how I can get this looking right? Thanks.

If the end user dosnt have that font installed, they wont see it. Are you sure its a default fault that most would have in windows?

You could always try embeding the font in the page.

if i desparately want to use a non-default font, i tend to make it into an image, that way it always works, you could try embeddding it, but IE doesnt like that command from my experience!

There is one other possibility and it uses Flash, it's called SIFR.

http://wiki.novemberborn.net/sifr

Just don't use the <embed> tag to put it into your html.

I think you're best bet, at least for your main content is to stick with a standard font. Part of embracing the web is accepting that you never have complete control over what your visitor will see.

However if you do want to use a specific font for small blocks of text like in your logo then I would use either an image or the method in the link LadynRed posted above.

There's a brand new and much improved version of SIFR out now, easier to implement and easier font-sizing:
http://novemberborn.net/sifr3/beta1

A tutorial for it is here: http://wiki.novemberborn.net/sifr3/How+to+use

And.. if you don't have flash, you can get SIFR'd fonts here: http://www.fontsmack.com/

Thanks for all the replies, I really appreciate it. What was bothering me is that the machine I'm working on has monotype corsiva, and it displays properly in Dreamweaver, but when I brought the page up in a browser it didn't display. Sifr looks like an awesome tool, thanks alot for the heads up. Although I have flash I found a site that already has my font so I'm good to go. The site is http://www.isarie.com/?p=17.
