Im looking to design a website for an auto dealership, lets say they have about 50 cars, updated daily. I understand HTML fairly well, and have created a few sites, but never w/ any PHP or database programming. Im wondering as far as having a log in for the dealer so they can update the inventory daily, how could this be done?

I have extensive knowledge of photoshop, illustrator, 3dmax, flash and graphical programs.... But im wondering, should I do this in PHP? I could do it in flash, but that would take a long time to perfect.

Again... looking for general advice, and direction.

Thanks.

If you're going to allow the dealer himself to log in and update the lists and sites, my suggestion is that you keep it as simple as possible and give him access to the uploading of the files. That way he can create the new data in the html file, and then upload it himself. That would be my suggestion but you might find an easier way. Using my way, you're assuming the car dealer is computer and internet literate, and I have learned in my experience that this is not always the best assumption!!

Hello,

Using php and mysql for the backend would be a good start you could design a website and have a admin panel where you can add/change/delete pages and then use a database to store the data such as, photo, reg, model/make, details and price etc. And then make a page on the fly for each record you add. And everytime a car sells just delete the page. Hope this helps.

You might want to consider using a script so your client can manage their listings easily. there are a few listed at http://www.hotscripts.com/PHP/Script...tos/index.html
