84 is an affliction ?? LOL. God Bless you for tackling this sort of thing at your age !! My mother, who passed away at 86 two years ago, didn't think about even just using the web.

There is a way to do what you want w/o a lot of scripting, but it does use CSS. The method is described here: http://meyerweb.com/eric/css/edge/popups/demo2.html

Basically, on mouse over, the image that is the 'popup' can appear anywhere you want it to. There is a tutorial doing exactly that on CommunityMX:

I don't think that article is free, but it's only $2 or something to get it.
