Search Engine Problems

Hi,
I have a very good page that teaches American Sign Language. At first I was high on Google and Yahoo, but now I don't find my page. I have checked all my htmls for errors and they all conform.

I do find parts of my pages on the search engines. As an example, the letter P html. which is only all the names of the signs I have under P (Not the signs. and not the page.) I also found a letter I poster here about a year ago. Wow. Perhaps it was because I gave my page name in that letter.

I have gone through my inner htmls to remove all META information except for the index html. Perhaps that was causing the pick-up of the inner htmls by the search engines.

Any advice on doing better on the search engines, and in removing un-wanted listings would be appreciated. (My page is: <-- asl1.org -->

The biggest problem you have is the use of FRAMES. This is very bad for search engines and you should try a design solution that does not use frames.

You DO want the Meta tags on EVERY page, but you need to make sure that you have a good title and a good description in your Meta tags. Keywords are not as important as they once were, but they are still useful as long as you don't use gazillions of them.

From the looks of what you've got there, you could easily group your signs into fewer pages, since you have small areas for each sign. This would also help in that you'd have more content on each page for the SE spiders to find.

If you do not have a Site Map, add one, the SE's like 'em.
