You could simply add "mailto:your@email.address" into the action attribute of your form. That's not a favorable method though, since it doesn't work with all browsers and email programs.

You really need some kind of server-side script. Which script you need depends on what your host supports. It might be Perl, PHP, ASP, etc. You can literally find 100's of free scripts that will do what you want. It's just a matter of finding out what server-side language you can use.

Thanks for that but what I'm really asking for is how to attach the info to the mail.

Sending form results as an email attachment? I'm sorry I'm confused. Either way you need to find a server-side script to do either.

The better written scripts will include some http information like ip number of the sender. You aren't going to get an email address unless they include it.

The ip may be that of the proxy site they are using.

I'm sorry but I have never used forms on my site. So I never bothered to learn how to work with them.

But I have several input areas on it that i thought it was time to learn.

the only info I'm looking for is the info that they enter into the form.

If you can't help me could you direct me to some place that i could use as a reference. So that I can start to learn how to make them.

Thanks

You have a couple of choices:
  • Set the form's action to a mailto link, like somebody explained ... but this might not work for, say, gmail addresses. Not really a good solution.
  • Use PHP or ASP on the server to do something with it when the user clicks "submit."
You could try something fancy, like a java/ajax applet coupled with a web service, but that'd be a lot of work.

I think you can surely use forms for that and the best as well easiest way to get a form is form genarator, I just mentioned in my previous post on other thread and same I am pasting it here:

Its pretty easy to install & use. It says, phpFormGenerator is an easy-to-use tool to create reliable and efficient web forms in a snap. No programming of any sort is required. Just follow along the phpFormGenerator wizard and at the end, you will have a fully functional web form!

visit the site at http://phpformgen.sourceforge.net/ and find the download link on the top navigation bar.

I really did not understand your knowledge level or your initial question.

All you really need is a contact form that allows you add a few more fields. Or you can take the route of creating your own form where the submit button mails the form contents to you.

A cgi or php based solution will protect your email address from spambots a good bit better than an html based version.

Start by defining the complete list of items you want to get.
fname, lname, email, city. state, zip, phone, etcetra.

Just remember most people are really picky about providing private information like the above on the web.
