Does anyone use/know of a really good CMS program?

A client has asked to be able to update news and whats on pages for their site.

I had a search at hotscripts and loads cam up all with different pricetags.

Any help or advise would be great!

Cheers

Unless you're very experienced with numerous different CMS systems, I'd stay away from Joomla and all of the "high-end" CMS systems -- Joomla causes thousands of people to throw their hands up and quit.

Yeah? I would love to know which CMS does not have a learning curve.

As for joomla, it's as easy as anything else out there and probably the best with the most active user community.

Yea Joomla has a steep learning curve I think. I just don't have the time to invest in learning it. I gave up on that already.

All CMS systems have an absolute learning curve; Joomla might've been easy for you, where 1000's more struggle with it.

I can't begin telling you how many emails I've had over the past year from people struggling with Joomla -- it's one of the toughest to grasp, unless you have a firm grip on HTML; CSS; and PhP combined.

Xoops isn't bad if you know how to install/configure the system; it too is almost as complicated as Joomla and Mambo.

Personally I would go for Wordpress every time, especially with the new features in the latest version.

I just don't do enough sites where I need that kind of power. You know what I mean? I mean you can pretty much do everything but the laundry with Joomla (there might even be a module out that will do that). Joomla would be a nice thing to learn how to use, but like I said, I just don't have time.

I do know how to use vbAdvanced with vBulletin. They are fairly easy to mange. No where near as powerful as Joomla.
