Hello everyone,

I am very new to website coding, so I personally don't know very much about html and css.

Anyway being up for a good challenge I have decided to code my first website

I have started and well... on my laptop it looks ok. But when I look on my main computer all the boxes are all over the place.

Is their a simple way to align this so it looks like it should .
This is what I have done so far

Can anyone help me

Use FireFox, and download an add-on called FireBug. It will help you debug html/css issues.

I see a lot of float right/left, so things are trying to line up next to each other, and something like word wrap is going on. Try <div style="clear:both" />, which will act like a line break for your divs.

Actually, <div> isn't a self-closing tag, Forrest. I haven't tried this myself, but you may be thinking of <br style="clear: both" />. Shame on you. A slap on the wrist, sir!

For the benefit of newbies: the other thing you should always try before asking online is to validate your code. I know it sounds silly and lame and annoying, but in some cases other things may get revealed that you never thought of. For example:

http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.heirloom-seeds.co.uk%2F

http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/v...usermedium=all

They don't appear to relate to your specific problem, but fixing those things never hurts (by the way, the CSS issue is text-align: center (note the ER instead of RE).

Hope this helps you on your way, dude.

What is it you're trying to accomplish? A 3 column or 2 column layout? First off, your code is overly complicated. You're trying to use too many div's. For instance, you have 2 divs is the main content acting as headings. Why not just use headings (h1 - h3) and style the heading tags?

Anyway, your one of your problems lies with your widths. There isn't enough room for your divs to fit... so they get bumped down.
