Dear webmasters,

I've just launched www.weather.lu, however, many visitors complain they cannot view the page properly. I use IE7 myself, but it seems that users of IE6 and lower get error messages.

The website is made in XHTML Strict and is using some 3th party javascripts, this could be a problem but on other XHTML Strict website they work fine.....

My question: I just recoded the website, can someone with IE6 check if it works fine now? And.. who has a clue what's wrong here?

I don't see anything that would prevent the site to work on ie6...
just the top menu seems strange, like it have a carriage return, but else...

Oh, and by the way, I have accented characters that are not shown correctly.
like that one:

La Suisse signe le Protocole ferroviaire � Luxembourg - Conf�d�ration suisse (Communiqu�s de presse)

I'd say that the "charset=utf-8" part of the encoding is to blame.
I was using firefox on an english windows XP (but in a french speaking country).

Your great, thanks. I guess I solved the really bad coding issue...but to be sure: I'd like to hear some reactions from IE users and other browsers.

The strange thing after reviewing the screen shot is that the menu didn't resize to fit your browser, maybe that's some kind of CSS code I need to master. Can you (or somebody) have a look please at the CSS file "default.css" ?? Let's see if I can attach it into this message.

If the menu is resized in IE6, it spills over on to the next line. My suggestion is to either use images for your menu or to shrink the font size of it.

Other than that, and the characters, I don't see anything on the surface that would cause that.

I 'manually' overwrote the stylesheet making the menu font smaller. It seems to work in the browser simulator: http://ipinfo.info/netrenderer/
but they never show you the real McCoy.

I also see in my statistics that you guys only look on the index page, can you please browse around a bit and let me know things work???
