My list items dont align correctly in IE. However in Firefox, it appears fine.

See here:

http://www.spotlight.com.au/careers?p=9458 (in particular the 4th bullet point)

What am I missing here?

I'm sorry but I don't see any problems in either browser.

I'm confused, is this spam, or a real question? I don't see any bullet points and the site looks as "the same" on IE and FF as is possible. Plus it's offering to find me a job in Australia, which I don't need.

The navigation links are lis, but not bullets, and bullets were specifically mentioned twice, in the title and body of this post. I'm confused, more than anything.

Sorry guys. I didnt realise the url doesnt change when I submit a search.

If you visit this link: http://www.spotlight.com.au/careers?p=9458 and then search by State = VIC and open then "Layout Coordinator" in South Melbourne, you will see a unordered list in the Job Description area. You will notice the 4th dot point isnt aligned with the start of the sentence.

I suspect it has something to do with the line breaks you've got between your list items. If you need to space out your list items, do not use <br>s, use margin and padding in your stylesheet.

IE does some freaky things with lists, you might want to read thru this:

I've tried removing the <br /> and it still does the same thing. See here:

Did you get this working? I looked at both pages and the lists looked fine to me in FF and IE. I'm using IE6. I couldn't notice any misalignment in the bullets.

Sorry, my bad. I was looking for horizontal alignment and not vertical alignment.

Looking at the page there are a lot of html errors such as two body tags. The source for the page inside the iframe where the list is also has a lot of html errors. The first thing to do would be to clean up those errors as they could be throwing IE off.

I don't see anything specifically in the code for the list that would cause the misalignment. I have a hunch and it's just a hunch that it's the width of the <ul> causing the problem in IE. I've never seen this before and this is just a hunch, but of you notice the 5th bullet point has the same problem and those are the two list items that seem to need all the width to display.

I have no idea why that would happen since dropping the bullet point down a line doesn't really change anything in the width, but it's a feeling that IE thinks it does and so drops the bullet point.

Got it...

Line 30,

MARGIN-LEFT: -20px; WIDTH: 410px

Change width to 500px then all is well...

Thanks Rolda, when I change the width to 500px the iFrame became a horizontal scroll (see the 4th list item).

To see what I am talking about see here: http://www.spotlight.com.au/careers?p=9458 (select VIC & Full Time) and then open the "Layout Co-ordinator" job in South Melbourne. You will see for this job that the 4th dot point is not completly visible in the iFrame window.
