I am rebuilding my site and I’ve created this header animation. The problem is, it is working extremely slow and takes 100% of CPU time. The whole animation is made of vectors. Any ideas on how to make it work properly are welcome.

I'd have to see the original FLA file. It does suck up a lot of resources while on that page.

I've broken up all the fonts and the two .png images like you said in your PM. It didn't improve the speed though. As soon as the circle starts spinning the rotating triangle is slow and with each movement introduced to the animation it only gets worse. It works well only when I switch the quality to Low but then it looks really bad.

Is there anything else I can do to improve the speed?

You've got a lot going on with that flash movie. Your first problem is the fps frame rate. it's set to 30. that's a lot. I know 12fps is normally to choppy for this type of animation, but 30 fps is far too high.

- You should add a quick preloader at the beginning. The preloader would probably take no more than a few seconds. For example, look at my homepage - http://www.aspirecreate.com. I use a preloader for my flash, it last for about 1 second and means my flash doesn't jump.

- I would be careful of using the flash 8 filters (drop shadow filters etc). Because your using these, you have to use flash player 8. There are still not that many people with flash player 8. If your aiming at a wide audience, you should try not to go over flash player 7. (in my opinion)

Problem resolved. It was the grid in the background and the FR net font that was slowing it down. Now I can finish the animation. Thanks all.
