I know how to put the favicon in for the favourites menu and then after you have book marked the page, it will show up in the address bar also.

It will appear in the address bar if the browser is operating correctly. Firefox, Opera etc. will all do it correctly, Internet Explorer acts very strangely. The best way to get it showing is to click the page icon in the address bar and drag it slightly to the right. it usually works.
