The left menu drops to the bottom, yet this is fine in ie 7, firefox and safari.

I know why..
You'ge getting float drop, which is due to IE6's broken box model.
Your overall #container width is 1024, and the div's inside it including borders, margins and padding add up to 1022 - which you might think is fine, but IE doesn't. You'll have to drop the widths down by a few more pixels to make IE stop dropping the column.

You have a 20px right margin in #bottom_affiliates .. take that off and I think it will pull the container back in.

It was that margin and also the width on the #product_brands ul, iv changed that to auto and its ok now. Do you know of a way to get the right and left blue strips to always go to the second bottom line, as depending on the browser they are leaving a white gap at the bottom.

thanks

The easiest way to fix that is to use the faux columns method.

Thanks for the reply, that has worked really well, although i now get a problem when i use internet explorer 6 at a lower colour depth these columns are a different colour to the top ones, i have no idea why it is doing this, as the screen will display the same colour correctly which has been used for a border.

Also the top 2 drop down menus also appear behind the top border.

Any ideas?

many thanks
