40 search engines! Wow. Of course, there are only a very few that count. The major search engines will find your site and index it without your doing anything. Most of these places just take your money. Paid inclusion PPC, and other SEM techniques have their place but I don't know which, if any, would be best for you.
I took a look at your site and see no reason for it to come up on the first 3 pages of Google. For what search strings SHOULD it rank well in the SERPs? There is very little "content" on the site. Keyword rich text is important. Content is king, and you don't have it. There is nothing in the text that a search engine is going to do much with. (Forget keywords in the meta. Google has never indexed them. Last I knew, only Inktomi still did.)
The new Google algo will likey keep your site (and many others) sandboxed for several months.
Inbound links - I found no inbound links of PR4 or better. Incoming links (and the link text) are a big factor in a site's ranking.
Regional - Your site is only of value to people within a limited geographic area. Will it even matter if it ranks well? So many clients want to rank, whether it is helpful or not. They don't understand how to use the site to their advantage. They only want to rank well.
For most sites in your class, rank is far from being the most important thing. High value raffic will come from other of your promotional foci. and the site will serve as an internet "brochure", "catalog", and "informational resource" - which is probably where its greatest potential lies.
