I have a hover menu located at "beta.auctioncms.com/test/test22.html". The first menu is really long. Is there a way for me to break up the first menu (States) and make it two columns?
thanks

I don't know how you'd do that on a hover menu.

The menu isn't working in IE, which is probably why you can't see it. But of course that's something that will need to be fixed.

Bradley I'm not sure there's a way to make the drop down part of the menu be two columns. What you might do is have the drop down contain items for North East, South East, etc and then use a second level of submenus to link to the specific states.

The menu system I've been using for awhile now is the Suckerfish Dropdowns

It'll work in IE, it's pretty simple to set up, and the link above shows how to add another level of submenus. Hope it helps.

If the column is that important to you I think you could play with the css on most any menu system so that only every other list item would display on a new line. That would give the appearance of a column.

I haven't seen a system that does what you're looking for in a table. In all honesty I think trying to split one long drop down into two columns is going to present a usability issue. I think most people would assume the second column is a sub sub menu.

Is there a reason you're so locked into using columns? I think there are better ways to organize the menu for both the code and your visitors.

Why don't you just make it a Flash menu? It'll look better

Does anyone know what the hover menu on eBay utilizes, it has the look I am going for ..... I looked at the code and I think it is CSS but when looking at the style sheet i couldn't see how they were getting the menus, Is that an example of a flash menu...

eBay is using JavaScript, though I'm sure there's css in there. I don't think it needs tables though. You should be able to use the css menu systems you've already seen and style things so that there are columns if you want. I still think there are better options.

HighVoltage those Flash menus might look cool, but they can't be spidered by search engines so if you use one you also need another navigational system is search traffic is important to you. You can also build pretty much the same things without the Flash.
