I need some help with how to do a gallery. all that is required is a set of scrolling thumbnail images at the top of the screen and when the user clicks on an image it opens in the same page.

save the page (ctrl + s), then go to the gallery_files folder and you'll see there a scipt .js and that would pretty much reveal how it's done.

The website in the link does not work for me. However, what you are wanting sounds a lot more like JavaScript than HTML.
