Hi!, came back with yet another newbie question but quiet confusing. in my website i'll put some new kind of publicity that i like a lot, i think it is compact, useful and quiet pretty...they are resizeable flashes that get bigger at "mouseOver". well. here's the link: http://www.elektronika.com.mx/Index.htm as you can see flashes open at MouseOver but the one in the rigth corner when it open it goes under the flash header!, the flash header is inside a cell (yeah i already know what you tihnk about tables but hey i didn't know that!, i'll try to give my self some time to learn CSS after my university admision test!) anyway, back to the point, the flash header is inside a cell and the flash in a floating div (layer) with Z-Index i've tried leve 2 & 3 and it remains the same!. i'm stucked here guys!, never thougth that would happen ...how can i fix it?

I'm not 100% sure because I hate z-index, but they have to be like 2000 and 3000 to work. I've only used it to put one element under another and I just give the underneath element z-index: -9999; and it works.

No, the flash need to be flagged "transparent", I beleive, for it not to be over html elements.

Z-index ONLY works when the element being positioned is set to position: absolute or position: relative. Even then, the actual stacking order of z-index can be more complicated than that.

So, your z-index is useless in this case. More info on z-index here: http://24ways.org/2005/zs-not-dead-baby-zs-not-dead
