Does any one know how to make the background music play in the background of a site with out restarting when they move to a different page. I would like to have it continously playing in the background while they are browsing. I know how to get the music in the background, but not continously through the wholesite without restarting. I have tried to look online but i'm not sure what to call it other than backgrond music script.

I'm really not sure. You could try a meta refresh timed for the length of the loop?

My dentist's site plays music, so I hit mute as soon as I get there.

Why on earth would you force your visitors to listen to YOUR choice of music ?? I absolutely HATE IT when someone does that on a web page/site and if I can't turn off the music, I'll just leave.

Doing what you want to do is extremely rude and aggravating, just don't do it !

I have to agree with ladynred, it's highly irritating, especially if you're already listening to some music/radio...

I agree nothing makes me want to close the browser more than when I come across a site that has music I can't shut off.

1 - the loop won't work
2 - the <embed> tag should NOT be used, it WILL cause IE to choke on the 'active content'.
There is a way this used to be done.. but it's equally bad so I'm not gonna even go there. It's just not a good thing to do to your visitors.

Why not give the user an option to listen to your "site radio". Then if they want to hear your music they will click the button. You could load the songs into a Pop-Under window (similiar to a popup but loads beneath the main browser window). That would also solve the "site wide" issue, as the songs would be playing through a different window and not effected by page refreshes

yeh i agree with the others. Background music is the worst.

if you HAVE to do it...you could use frames. Make a top frame and a main frame..the main frame having all your content, the top frame having your music player. i beg you to put in a "stop" button.
