This page is loading weird characters before the html in firefox only.

Specifically if you look in the top left corner when loading the page in firefox you can see these characters "".

It doesnt do this in IE.

Im so confused i cant figure out whats going on? There is nothing in my code that would load these characters. I even tried removing ALL code before the doctype and these characters are still showing up.

This is usually when the page being saved is ISO-8859-1 encoding but using UTF-8 (or maybe the other way around, it's been a while since I've had this problem).

The easiest way to fix, is open legal.php and open a blank page, copy it over to the new page and save it back as legal.php, if it still shows up, then there should be an encoding setting for the page that needs to be changed, if your editor can't do that, then get one that does, like notepad++, http://notepad-plus.sourceforge.net/

Wow i cant believe it was that simple, just copied and pasted into a new file!

Thank you very much for your help, I already have notepad++ aswell, it is a great tool although i have to say that kate for linux is the best out there!
