Website in Firefox vs. IE

Well, I've been creating and updating my site through Firefox for a while now, and recently Firefox wasn't working properly (Vista problems, go figure...), so I opened up IE to make a quick fix, and holy crap did it look awful. I provided some comparisons below, and here's to hoping someone can guide me in the right direction.

Firefox:www.forestanime.com/images/firefox.jpg
Internet Explorer:www.forestanime.com/images/explorer.jpg

I'm happy that I caught it somewhat early so it won't be so hard to update if someone is able to help out. Thank you in advance.

Why don't you use <hr> instead of pressing <shift> + <-> to make your lines.

If you are going to make a web site - optimize it at least for FF and IE... I am working on something right now that looked unbelievably different in FF and IE at the beginning... and it's taking a lot of time to fix it... (Death Note is Great ) and I think the problem there is the lack of <br /> between the <img src=""> and the text

Gotta love death note I did the breaks after img src, and it seems to have fixed it a little, but things still seem a little messed up. I normally would have my friend who made the website help me out, but... IE doesn't work on his computer (how convenient for him... lol).

This is what it looks like now http://www.forestanime.com/Untitled1.jpg

Always check both browsers to make sure everything is looking okay. Sometimes I use php to detect browser type and spit out different layout code for each browser, so I am not limited to cross browser design, but then you pretty much have to code everything twice. IE sucks!

I figured as much, I'm just not entirely sure how to go about fixing it, so any help with that would be greatly appreciated.

If I were you, I will check first the site layout in Internet Explorer before Firefox because most people are using IE. Then check all the codes in dreamweaver especially your width to avoid alignment errors. If you need help, email me at zorrosweb15@gmail.com

And that would be a bad idea. Why ? Because IE 6 and below is the LEAST standards-compliant browser out there and it is plagued by a huge list of bugs.

Ideally, you should code and test to make the site work properly in the more standards-compliant browsers - Firefox, Opera, Safari, etc., and THEN you kick IE into submission with the necessary bug-fixes to make it look as close to the others as possible. It will never be pixel perfect.

Got it fixed, now there's only minor problems. First, for the text, the alignment won't change to the left, it only seems to work in firefox, and second, in each box, all the text goes out from the center. I can't make the text start from the top and go to the bottom of the box.
