I have a client who wants to edit their website in the HTML editor provided in their CP on the shared hosting account. We did a trial run with .html page they want to edit and they can't seem to keep their mouse off of the non-text areas and the client keeps changing other elements on the page.

Any ideas of how to design a small HTML site a client can easily edit only a text area?

I even tried using a template and found their hosting account's HTML editor was able to edit the template while working on the .html file. URGHHHHH!

there are some opensource HTML editors that you can limit the options on - but if you have alll the images and layout in the editable CMS area theres no stopiing them - you would have to make a simple custom CMS that only allowed text and used static layouts and images
