The problem appears to be that you have a div that is floating right, and a div that is floating left, but no container or wrapper to prevent them from spreading on large resolutions or stacking on small resolutions. The easiest fix would be to put your left div and right div (and the respective content) into your content div. I'm assuming that was how it was originally.

You relaly should do as frost says and put them in a container. This will prevent this from happening. My res is far bigger than 1028*768 and they are very far apart. What problems are you getting on 800*600? Could you post a screenshot?
