I am beginning a new website project and was after some suggestions. The site is going to be for an artist showing off some of their pieces.

My idea is to have to halves to the site: the right hand side will be a slideshow/gallery with buttons to change the images or let them play themselves, the left hand is going to be text but with different pages of content.

I would like the user to be able to change the content on each side, ie change the picture or click to the next page of text, without affecting each side.

Now I would normally use frames for this. But I was wondering if there were any other suggestions.

Thanks for your time on reading this and posting comments. I hope I have explained myself well enough.

You can try using CSS layout and AJAX technique to update the page sections.

You could do this with layers having a java script for the scrooling of the images

AJAX seems your best bet (for not refreshing the page).

AJAX is going to be the best way to go.

You might want to look at some AJAX examples to see what's involved...
