So you know why you get the blue border, its because the images are hyperlinks, and it is just like the default link style like text hyperlinks. e.g. like this

The easiest way to get rid of the borders is to add

img {border:0}

or

img {border:none}

to your css file. The reason you get the border is exactly like Vicky said. It's the default link style.
