I am trying to create this new site and having problems. When I view this page in IE7 its fine. If I use FF then its all out of wack. I cant figure it out for the life of me.

Can someone take a look and see whats up?

http://www.rcbadboys.co.uk/new/test.php

Thanks.

Usually when i have problems like this i make sure that i fix validation errors. I think cleaning up your code often fixes many cross browser issues.

http://validator.w3.org/check?verbose=1&uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.rcbadboys.co. uk%2Fnew%2Ftest.php

You can make sure your css validates aswell here

Normally, if IE displays it 'right' and Firefox is displaying it 'wrong', then the fault usually lies with one of IE' s many bugs - and yes IE 7 still has them!

I would agree with Clayton though, validating your code is always a good place to start.

It seems that the validator is saying I am using the wrong doctype. I have

<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN">

Should I be using a different one? What is the best way to fix some of these issues?

What the validator says is that your page is not valid HTML 4.01 Transitional and you have 58 errors:

http://validator.w3.org/check?verbos...new%2Ftest.php

While HTML 4.01 Transitional is pretty loosey-goosey, there are still rules to follow for valid code.

TOPMARGIN is deprecated, it is not VALID per the W3C standard.
You might want to take a look here: http://www.w3schools.com/tags/tag_body.asp

ALL presentation attributes were deprecated in HTML 4.01 - they should be in the CSS and NOT as attributes on the <body> tag.
