Hello all!

Yes, this may seem like the age old question floating around on forums these days. Well today is the day we have to do that very thing.

I have searched on this forum and tons of others cutting and pasting countless scripts to accomplish our goal and NONE have worked.

I am trying to place a video file (either .avi or .mpg) into a web page where the surfer can play the vidoe / stop video etc. right in the page, plus I want it to have the Windows Media Player controls.

None of the scripts I have found are working. Here is a link to my present attempt:

If any one has any insight on why in the heck is this not working. Here is what I have done:

1 - the .mpg and .avi have been moved to the root of the web
2 - I have used the absolute path to the avi and mpg
3 - doesn't work with IE or firefox
4 - the mpg file is about 98,000kb in size. DOn't know if that has anything to do with it.

Help would be most appreciated!!!

When I tried to load the movie I had the same problem. This tells me this isn't a problem with the script as much as its a problem with the movie itself.

How big is this movie?

I think this may be the real problem.

It's taking forever to d/l the video on my cable connection.
You also have these errors:
line 1 column 1 - Warning: missing <!DOCTYPE> declaration
line 16 column 1 - Warning: <embed> is not approved by W3C
line 17 column 1 - Warning: <name> unexpected or duplicate quote mark
line 17 column 1 - Warning: <name> attribute with missing trailing quote mark
line 17 column 1 - Error: <name> is not recognized!
line 17 column 1 - Warning: discarding unexpected <name>

I would suggest you look thru the stickies here, there is one thread devoted to putting movies and such into a web page and NOT using the problematic <embed> tag.
