Using IE in windows xp (and probably above) I get an error if I use script tags in the html saying

"To help protect your security, Internet Explorer has restricted this file from showing active content that could access your computer. Click here for options."

Today was the first time i've ever noticed it because my work has only recently updated their windows inorder to use CS3 software.

Is there anything I can do to the code to stop this happening.

Thanks

Nothing in the code you can do to stop it happening, It's a security feature. Poeple like to know about this stuff.

To stop your own computer doing it
# From Internet Explorer, select the Tools menu, then the Options...
# In the Internet Options dialog, select the Advanced tab...
# Scroll down until you see the Security options. Enable the checkbox "Allow active content to run in files on My Computer".

Ok thanks for that.

I'm just a little confused as why this page doesn't bring up the warning.

http://www.rocket-media.com/jamesons/introduction1.html

It's a flash intro i did. Some of the html was generated by Flash CS3. I don't understand why this is ok but even if I add just one script tag to another page the warning crops up again.

I don’t know if it has something to do with this, but IE generally makes a different between files on the internet and files on your local system. Local flash-content and scripts are faster seen as a possible danger so IE blocks them and shows a warning message, but it wouldn’t do this with the same file on the internet.
