I have smartftp &awardspace,.I just keep getting cannot connecting.

the steps are

1. Get FTP hostname, username & password from host

2. Open FTP program

3. Enter hostname username & password from 1.

4. Connect and upload

Check steps 1 & 3 if it doesnt work

How long has your site been registered and live with a host?
If it is less than 48 hours DNS may not have propogated fully.

other than that,
what is the error you are getting in your browser?
do we get a URL to check for issues?
Have you named the "home" page correctly?

and a myriad of other possibilities.

I see it just find in the brower,but I can't find it surfing the web.So I am wondering if I got my hosting right.

If you mean it's not on Google, of course it isn't! You probably haven't yet got any links to it from other sites so Google hasn't found it. Even when Google does, if the site is about something popular, then there are probably a million other sites out there similar to yours, in which case it will be miles back in the Google index. It takes a long time and a lot of hard work to get a site on the first few pages of Google for a popular word
