hi, i'm in a critical situation, the problem is , the site which i built works fine in my machine and where ever i see it, except for two places. in these two machines it looks weired.
the site extends its width all over the screen and there are lots of spaces to the right of an image which is placed at the center of my page.

what could be the reason. i took the source of the webpage from these machines and when i view that from my machine it is fine as usual. so i'm not able to understand the problem so not able to fix it also. is it something related to the settings in these two particular machines, if yes what setting should i compare with mine.. pls help...

let me know whether i need to give more information.

thanks for your help.

What are the machines ?
What are the browsers ?

Can't help you w/o seeing the code.

Hi Santos,

It sounds like these "different" machines (computer) are actually using "different" browsers, and or have "different" screen size and resolutions.

This is the test of a good developer. Creating the design is the easy part. Developing the page so that it looks consistent across the set of web browsers that are available is the challenge.

You must learn as much as you can about CSS and you must "play" ...

learn the differences by experimenting and through research through forums like this.

I know I have not given any specifics at this point. I am in a bit of a hurry this morning; however, this is where your mind must arrive. You will get frustrated, then you will get better, then you will get frustrated some more. Practice, and experiment...

Will talk later,

Chip

Santos,

I think the layout you are striving to achieve may be a bit over your abilities. If this is a business venture and you are talking about making money with this site, you would be better off getting a professional to handle this for you.

If you do not want to allocate the capital (money) for this, then my suggestion is to use a simpler layout until, either you can learn how to do this, or you can afford to pay someone else to do it for you.

If you have the time, this is what it will take to get this done. You will need to learn about what you are doing. It isn't as simple as asking for a quick look at your code...

My suggestion: Create a simpler layout; then learn to build the one you want. When you have mastered the techniques to build it, then build it!
