Professional Webmasters and SEO Gurus, I could use your advice.

I am the webmaster of HoustonLawyersDirect.com (it’s still under development). Recently I purchased the expired domain HoustonLawyers.org. HoustonLawyers.org has a higher PR, stronger back-links, and the domain seems well geared to my clientèle. My current site has pretty much no back-links and a relatively low PR.

What do you think would be the best option:
Should I 301 redirect HoustonLawyers.org to my current site (HoustonLawyersDirect.com)? Will this transfer the domain’s PR and credibility to my own, or will I simply weaken the credibility/value of HoustonLawyers.org?

Or

Would it be best to transfer HoustonLawyersDirect.com to HoustonLawyers.org? This option would be very painstaking and I would prefer to avoid it if possible.

Or

Do you think it would be more lucrative to set up a referral site similar to this one houstonlawyers.com and simply link to HoustonLawyers.com?
If I am missing something please let me know. There is a good chance that you guys have a perspective that I don’t-your input is much appreciated.

Thank you!
A.Kamal

(note: I have left the links non-clickable because I have read that there has been a spamming problem. This way you guys know that I have a legitimate question. Thanks again.)

very simple, doesn't matter one bit what you do, there is every chance the "google clock" may get turned back with the change of ownership.

Toolbar PR means NOTHING so you can ignore that.

So, are the existing backlinks likely to send qualified traffic is the only thing worth considering.

Thanks Chrishirst, you always seem to be the one to reply to my questions. The new site does have some great back-links in addition to the Pr, so I think it may have been a good buy.

Could I ask you one more question?

I am planning on putting the new domain up for auction at GoDaddy.
While it is at auction I was going to have it 301 redirect to my current site (for the great links).

My question is; granted that my current site is a much lower Pr, will a 301 redirect make the new site auction for less? I am concerned that auctioneers will read my current low Pr/back-links as that of the new site mistakenly. Of coarse I would want to get the most out of the domain.

Would anyone have advice to that by chance?
