I've read that blogs are seen better by search engines, because of their continuous update.
We've tried this thing before but we've got little results.
We want to create a new blog. My main interest is to bring traffic for cratima website and new business for the company.
Before we'll decide to transform this thought into reality I have some questions.
1. Should we put the blog on Cratima 's domain name, on should I make a blog on blogspot, myspace...etc.
2. Regarding the content. We want the blog to be about new internet solution that can help new businesses. a) We can search the web, find out news, filtered them and then put the most interesting in our blog. b) We can add value to different news on the net, value from our knowledge and business.
c) Use both articles with added value and some funny stories related to the businesses.
3. How many blog administrators are necessary to make it interesting (with quality and enough information)

Blogs don't get any special treatment. Why would they? If my experience is anything to go by then 90% of blogs are spam and should be treated with suspicion. Your own experience has shown that you got very little benefit from publishing your content in blog form.

I would say if you have something worthwhile to write, then write and publish it in any form you like (within reason). It's the content that will bring traffic, not the fact it's presented in a blog.

My idea of using a blog was for daily content update. It's hard to update the content in an website.
For example in the present Cratima web site we can update the news and the testimonials information, but certainly not daily. That does not matter for search engine crawlers especially when the web site is made in flash.

Cratima, if you want to post updates of your site daily, regarding news, changes, etc. I don't see anything wrong with publishing a company blog.

One of the significant reasons people start blogs, I believe, is because they are relatively easy to set up, install, and manage once they are created.

I'd agree with him. Most of the blogs that I see on the internet are just one of those scams where people are trying to make money off you.

If you really want to run commercial site and wish to convince them to buy your products, yes, you can put more details on your product (longer description) in blog. Somemore, you can publish your blog with the issue you deal with your customers to increase the confidence btwn you and your customers

What makes you think that potential customers know or more importantly even care about a blog promoting a different site.

Put the details ON THE SAME SITE AS THE PRODUCTS so potential customers can find it and buy it on the same page.

Make a UNIQUE and RELEVANT content, Content is king, Search engine like quality content, not the quantity. then do Regular posting and editing.

We use a blog as a companion for the business networking site mentioned in my sig. For the domain we used http://blog.globalbusinessnetworking.com (sub domain of the site's domain).

The blog allows us to update members on what's coming as well as to post up articles I've written and anything that might be of interest to members. Blogs tend to be much more informal than a corporate site, and tend to allow more of a conversational approach. We use ours as a compliment to the main site, rather than as an expansion of it. On the front page of the main site is also a list of the last 10 blog posts so people can keep up to date.

One idea I found on http://www.SmartWealthyRich.com was to ask influential people to guest post on the blog. From that we had 3 people guest blog, including the guy from SWR. Nice guy I have to say, very helpful.

Used correctly a blog can be a great compliment to a site. It can offer additional content, news and updates, conversations with customers etc. which help with site promotion as well as SEO.

This is untrue. Most of the blogs are very legitimate and making their way to sucesss and earning more than normal websites.

Blogs and websites are both great for promoting your business. To get the search engines to pick them up, you do have to update them and add things to them on a regular basis. With a business you are most likely doing that. Everyone is into blogs right now so that may work out great for you.
