My site is new, and it's a casual endeavor of mine, but I still want to get traffic to it of course. I was thinking about using a free (only method I'm using at the moment

) banner exchange. I figure that if I put it on the bottom of my page it's not going to detract that much from the site (or is that wrong?), but it might get me a few hits.

So my basic question is, do you think it's worth it to use a banner exchange? If you do, which one would you recommend?

Hi there

I have tryed many banner exchanges, 99.9 % of them are rubbish and will get u hardly any hits and they make ur site look ugly if you have too many of them

I however have set up one of my own banner exchange on one of my site pages, so customers can post their banners, and that seems to work ok.

If you can find one that is directly related to your niche then it might provide some traffic. Only entertainment and humor niches really have any good banner exchange programs, and even those don't perform that well.

Ive never tried banner exchange but I have heard of pop-under ad exchange and they are very effective.

I have tried a few banner xchange systems over the years and they have all been rubbish! The banners you get look awful and they do not deliver the traffic you hope for.

Yes I do. The more linking the better. Google free banner exchange. You will find a lot.

What is your sites topic?

I would like to form a webmaster syndicate/cooperative which does free banner exchanges amongst our sites. Only topic applicable though, ie i wouldnt want to advertise child related material on an adult site etc.

So to start if you will put my banner on your site i will put it on mine, etc (with no monetary exchange just traffic).

Anyone interested in forming a webmaster cooperative let me know.

I have heard a lot about blogrush.com, but they have very strict quality criteria.
