I have a limited ad budget (we're talking $25/month at the moment - perhaps an increase in the future) and I'm looking for some ideas on how to promote my political website. Do you guys think I should go with adwords or do you happen to know of any sites or ways that I could go that might be effective?

25/month isnt going to get you squat on adwords - thats 500 clicks.

i suggest checking in the advertising forum on here and on WHT and other webmaster related sites and see if you can purchase some text/banner/button ads on sites relivant to yours... you should be able to get some as low as $5/month.
