I fell like I have exhusted every way I know of to get traffic.

I have on page SEO and good SE rankings.
I contribute in forums.
I have growing backlinks (many).
I joined social networks.
I have submited to classified sites.
SearchBliss is in major directories.
I submit press releases.
I update and add content.
I have a blog.

What am I missing?

Make sure that's GREAT content you have, traffic will come easily this way.

You might want to consider updating the look of your site a little bit as well. Your gradients especially.

You could also become a community.

Sometimes we may *think* we have great content, but we don't. We're often biased in favor of ourselves.

You can tell it's great content when *other website owners* are linking to you (meaning you don't have to do any of the work in seeking traffic) and visitors are wanting to view your page.

I understand this, and other websites do link to mine...I do not swap links our request them. I just think I'm missing something other than what I have listed.

I am in need of updating...but I have to find the time. I have a 2 year old and another son due in two weeks, so time is limited...if fact, he just woke up from his nap...gotta go!

Surely you aren't suggesting that "Web2.0" Optimising "strategies" are a ~~crock of s~~ waste of time

I would say that it would be an ideal opportunity to capitalise on what you perceive as a failure or maybe not quite the success you anticipated...

... and document the entire thing. Packaged as a "How and why SEO2.0 isn't really SEO" kind of article.

All I can do now is laugh...maybe I'll just re-design my site with a lot of yellow Web2.0 BETA logos on it. I'm thinking of a lime green theme...original.

In seriousness, yes SearchBliss needs to be updated...but again, I'm just looking for traffic ideas I haven't covered yet (not in my car). Thanks for the laugh though...I needed it. Now I'm beginning to think I've exhusted this thread.

Maybe this is in the wrong forum, but since it was mentioned by John in the thread...I have two noobie questions.

1. Where do you go to do press releases at? Is there a press release website?
2. What is search bliss?

You can use other traffic building methods as well like PPC eg Google Ads
if you want to monetize your site with ads then the better the site structure the more relevant the adverts.

Seriously, like I mentioned before, I think a good way to go (other than a little touchup work) is to become a community of some sort, perhaps centered around web tools or a similar theme. It'll take a while to build up, but it'll mean lots of repeat traffic once you get it started. You could go a couple different routes for community: a simple forum, something like digg, something more like myspace, or perhaps you could come up with something new.

My initial response was, "You do?" When I went back and looked for it, I found it on the very bottom of the homepage, blended in with everything else. If you were to give it higher visibility, like putting it in a menu, I'd be willing to bet that it'll be used more.
