Okay. Well, with all the buzz with sites on/for/about myspace, what are your thoughts about using myspace for traffic? I know that with a lot of friends and the right scripts you can send a ton of traffic to your sites - thing is, the traffic isn't high quality.

What are some topics/niches that you think myspace traffic would have a high result for in return earnings?

Ah, man, you beat me to the topic, I was just about to post it. Good think I looked around and just replied to your post instead of making a new thread ignorantly ;-)

Anyways, myspace, i feel, is an excellent source of traffic. It provides lots of massive users very quickly. It's definitely one of the quickest ways I've seen sites populated.

As far as sites that would return well, I think any site targetted to the 18-35 year old age group would benefit. Love sites, humor, arcade, video, networking, chatting, graphics, images, funny sites. Those types of sites... and of course any site that has to do with myspace, like resource sites.

There is no question that MySpace is an excellent source of traffic with over 80,000,000 users and growing. If you hit the niches and market your site appropiately you can easily get more traffic than you could have ever imagined possible and you don't have to wait months to get a good rank like with search engines.

That is what I thought... however, for more "intelligent" sites that require more user interaction, would it be a bad idea to advertise on myspace? Would it do more harm that good?

I network for one of my websites via MySpace and it's a great way to keep in touch with visitors of the website along with getting new people to visit.

Any website with some type of media for teenagers would be good for advertising on myspace. That traffic converts well.

I think it'd be mildly to highly successful.... if you did that to a teen forum I'm sure you'd get a lot of registrations.

Cool, that's what I'm thinking as well. That traffic is also really cheap so I'm hoping it will work pretty good....We'll see.

Yep, i have been advertising my Game website via bulletins and comments i see a small amount of traffic in the short term but it slowly dies off. your best bet is to purchase a large account and start sending daily comments and bulletins.

Yeah I think you need to consistently send out bulletins, it's tough because everyone else is spamming too haha. There is such a huge market that I'm sure you can find some success with it. Obviously it would depend on the content of your site and whether or not it appeals to the myspace crowd.

Myspace is especially usefull if you monetize your page impressions. There are some very targeted groups out there that, if marketed to correctly, will provide a steady flow of traffic.

I still rely on MySpace for traffic, and in my case, it isn't that bad quality as you already stated.

I mean, teens will click on anything, and a lot don't even know that what they're clicking on is an advertisement!

In my personal case, I've really enjoyed all of the traffic MySpace has been sending me.

MySpace can definitely be a traffic cash cow, but a word of caution: If your site is brand new and has very little traffic, don't buy a Myspace account with thousands of friends and send out a bulletin about "Free Ringtones" or something else that would appeal to the Myspace demo. If you're using AdSense and Google sees your traffic spike like that, they're likely to yank your account. If you don't believe me, surf over to sitepoint...there's a whole thread about it. This guy was totally jazzed because he used that strategy and his traffic went through the roof. 3 days later he had no adsense account.

Myspace traffic is not going to visit you again and again unless you send them bulletins again and again. I don't prefer myspace traffic but one of my website goes into that niche and I'm probably going to advertise.

So , In short it really depends if myspace traffic is going to be positive for you or negative!
